Do you consider your work sacred? I wonder… 

Completing a weeklong program recently I was well aware of the varied professions in the room and the lack of financial professionals. Comparing my work to the others one could consider me an outcast.  Healers, doctors, therapists and “the helping” professions filled the room; their work is sacred I believe.  Is mine? Truth be told there have been many occasions that I questioned my work in the field of finance. You can guess the times that aroused doubt. Words like Madoff, recession, Credit Default Swaps, derivatives may give you a clue.

But in a conversation with a friend talking about the subject, she reminded me that it is not necessarily the work, but the human energy that is sacred.  It is the person offering their sacred light to the situation that makes work sacred; not the other way around.

In your course of the day, reflect on your work and your contribution of wisdom, effort and intention and declare it sacred. Are you willing? I wonder.
